Very Low Lighted Keypad

I agree 100% with this review- This 300 microwave has a very low contrast keypad with no back lighting. In a brightly illuminated area you can see the controls somewhat. In the evening, with natural lighting or low lighting, the keypad controls are lost. The advertising picture shows a very visible keypad. Mine is very subdued and does not look like the picture Bosch shows which looks like it has backlighting. Bosch needs to fix the 300 Series microwave and improve the panel brightness.

Works much better than previous nuker. Full power is too strong for many reheats, 80% for frozen and 60% for refrigerated seems to work best for my usage. Docked one star for control panel covering material. Immediately after installation noticed a small white speck above the Start button. Using warm soapy water attempted to clean the speck off, after drying with microfibre cloth noticed that the speck grew larger and appeared to be a bubble. The next day it was bigger and another spect appeared above the 2 digit. Called customer service and explained the issue and was informed the part was in stock and a technician was scheduled to install 3 weeks later. Morning of repair we received a call from the technician asking what the problem was and if we could send him a picture of the control panel and the model number of our microwave. The technician informed us he would have to order the part and would call back to reschedule repair, rescheduled for 3 more weeks... hmmm, seems to be a high demand part. Will try to find what we can put over the new panel so the covering does not degrade with daily use.

This was purchased to replace a similar Bosch unit that finally failed with an inside metal lining burn after 18 years of faithful service. It is a very nice piece of equipment, with just a few comments. First, the microwave function is very quiet, a plus. However, the internal vent fan is very loud. More to the point, while air blows out the top vent, there is very little flow into the two-under vent portals, not very efficient removing smoke and odors. The control and number pad is very difficult to read in normal light. Either the text needs to stand out more, or ideally it would be better if illuminated. Other than that,, I very much appreciated that Bosch paid for the installation.

Fabulous Bosch Microwave

Shortly before our vacation trip the the Bahamas, our old Bosch microwave decided to quit after 15+ years of reliable, uninterrupted service to this family of four. We immediately replaced it with this Bosch over-the-range Bosch microwave and we couldn't be happier. All of our large appliances are Bosch brand - refrigerator, oven/range, dishwasher, clothes washer and dryer. We stand behind the Bosh brand and recommend it highly. The quality, functionality, reliability, warranties are outstanding and Bosch provides excellent customer service. We love our new Bosch microwave. This microwave replaces my 500 series. I had to downgrade as Bosch made the 500 larger and it would not fit as my quartz full backsplash was cut to fit the original 500. This 300 microwave has a very low contrast keypad with no back lighting. In a brightly illuminated area you can see the controls. In late afternoon, with natural lighting or low lighting,the keypad controls are lost. The advertising picture shows a very visible keypad. Great Look but Difficult to Read Keypad

first, we purchased the benchmark microwave, but learned it was too high for our cabinets and chose the 300 over the range microwave because it would fit. Paid for it on May 17, 2025 and was told they had to program them for child locks. It did not arrive until November 6th and experts installed it on November 7th. We like the style and features, but can't see the keypad (no back lighting) unless the kitchen lights are on. I checked and none of the Bosch microwaves are backlit so we'd need to choose another brand to be able to see the keypad without external lighting.
