Nice hood if you do not need the filters

After a month wait due to shipping delays I was able to get my hood installed. Works great, but cannot use it because I need recirculating and still waiting on the filters. It has been three months now. No one can tell me what the holdup is. So for now I leave it off.

We installed our Bosch 800 Series hood as part of a kitchen remodel. While it seems like the fans blow fine, it doesn't seem as powerful as you would expect. I'll give it a couple of months and see what I think.

Not as thrilled as we'd hoped.

I really debated on the puchase of this range hood during our kitchen remodel. It was the price that held me back, but after doing all the research, we decided to go ahead and make the puchase. The appearance of the unit is very nice. The filters come out easily and are dishwasher safe. The lighting is nice and does the job intended. The problem is, the description read that you could hold a conversation in the room with the unit running. NOPE! It is LOUD!! Louder than my 35 year old unit it replaced. My husband can't hear the tv in the living room when this is running and my Echo (Alexa) can't even hear me saying to turn it off over the noise. We waited months for this unit and spent over $1000 - I think we could have done without the voice features, saved money and been able to enjoy a conversation over our new kitchen island.

I bought Bosch because I was excited how it would sync with my Bosch induction cooktop and come on automatically when I turned on a burner. It's hit or miss if it works. I even moved a mesh point from my router about 2 feet away to make sure it wasn't a weak signal from WiFi. Frustrating how I paid a premium for something that doesn't actually do what it supposed to do. Called Bosch and was told they would call me back within 72 hours, a week later haven't heard from them. Obviously got blown off. I wouldn't recomenf if your looking to use the home connect features. Otherwise, it's reasonably quiet and does what it's supposed to do. But so would a off brand that's a lot cheaper.

Fairly quiet

Also have the 36" benchmark induction cook top. I bought this hood insert because of the home connect and be able to link them together. The downside is the hood doesn't always come on when I turn on a burner on the cooktoop like it's supposed to. It turns on the light every time I turn on the cooktop but when I turn on a burner, it's hit or miss if the fan will turn on. I even put a mesh point from my WiFi router on the other side of the wall that the hood is on, so only a few feet away, still only works like 30% of the time. Try disappointed in this very expensive hood. Obvious flaw.
