Very Happy with this dishwasher

Our six year old dishwasher of another cheaper brand had a leaky door gasket and when I called customer service they said that they don't carry replacement gaskets. The Tech went on to to say that the dishwasher was supposed to use only cold water as hot water wears out the gasket, which sounded fishy to me. I shopped around and saw the Bosch 300 series in an 18" wide model and even though it was more than double the price of the existing dishwasher I decided to buy it. Although it got delayed by another 2 weeks, we were quite pleased with the features and ease of installation. It took me about 3 hours to install and I was impressed in the quality of workmanship in its construction. It was easy to use and is very quiet when it is running. We are looking forward to years of service and know if we need spare parts they will be available!

So quiet!

I love the top rack for silverware and small, flat items. I like that the middle rack is adjustable. I wish it had a few more tines or supports. The angle of the bottom surface doesn't suit my glasses and mugs and so they end up rather jumbled together. I like how the silverware basket has slots so that in can be positioned anywhere along the row, although I rarely use it, favoring the top rack instead. It runs so quiety that I sometimes have to check to be sure it's really on.

Well engineered, poorly designed

This was apparently designed by someone who neither cooks, nor bakes, nor has young children. All of the tines are the same height and at the same angle. If some of the tines were higher, and some at a different angle, more dishware would fit. Children's dinnerware with rounded edges won't fit between the tines, nor will soup bowls or cereal bowls-they all just flop together which might cause chips and cracks during the cycle. Sheet pans and cookie sheets fit nowhere. One of the tines in the lower tray arrived disconnected, and cannot be used much as it is always flat, though some large items can be placed there. Hollow handled knives won't fit in the little tray, and forks sometimes don't get clean.

I can't believe how quiet this machine is. The dishwasher also let me know when I need to refill the finish jet dry rinse aid. It's fantastic I couldn't have bought a better dishwasher. And it's a small one you can really feel that sucker up I love it I am one happy owner of a Bosch +46 DBA dishwasher

Fits well in small space. Very quiet. Like that plastics can be washed and dried safely on any level. Detergent pods seem to work better than powdered detergent. The powder doesn't always dissolve. Sometimes solidifies in the detergent compartment.

Well built. The machine is so quiet you can hardly hear it run. The racks are well designed and hold a lot of dishes. It's great to not have to worry about putting plastic items on the lower rack because the drying system doesn't use a heating element, so no melted plastic. This machine cleans even the dirtiest dishes with out even having to pre rinse them. A++

I love the Bosch dishwasher.

The top shelf where I put the utensils is great. It leaves more room for plates in the bottom shelf. It barely makes any noise. And, the dishes come out really clean. And I love that the one shelf can move up and down. My one criticism is that I would hope that the engineers could find a way to add more cups and glasses to the middle shelf.

First, the diswasher is lower than standard counter height - when installed it is about 2 inches lower than the one I had before., leaving a 2 inch gap underneath the counter top. The owners manual does not fit my machine. I read the owners manual and it said to start with setting the rinse cycle. When I went to look for the setting as shown in the illustration in the owners manual - it was not there - my machine does not have that setting. The prongs and silverware basket are diffucult to use. Bowls, and plastic storage ware do not fit.

Perfect for Social People

After using the 300 Series for a few months all I can say is WOW. Not only is it quiet, amazingly effective, and properly installed this machine literally is cutting wasted water consumption. The price is right and the device is perfect for the smaller space with two busy professionals that love to entertain on the weekends. The Wi-Fi App is just as important. I thought it was just Marketing cliche but its a must have in opinion.

New Bosch 18" Dishwasher for Kitchen Update

I had the Bosch 18" 300 Series dishwasher installed in my kitchen two months ago. There was no dishwasher previously, and cabinet space was limited, so I am very pleased to have a fully-functional dishwasher in a smaller profile. I love the 3rd rack -- it accommodates lots of silverware or other small items while freeing up space below. I also appreciate the adjustability of the middle rack. It's easy to move up or down depending on what I'm washing. I find there's lots of versatility in configuration. There's lots of space for plates, though I find my cups and bowls don't fit as easily as the diagram shows in the user manual. I've only used the "Normal" setting so far. Sometimes there's a plate that comes out with a grayish spot or two but on the whole washing is satisfactory. Drying is ok, but not amazing. I find that there's usually a little water I have to dry from a dish or two, and I'm only using glass (no plastics). The dishwasher is easy to start, stop and program. I appreciate the child safety lock feature as well. So overall happy with this model, especially the 3rd rack for versatility and space in this smaller unit.
